Ahhh Eski...
Perhaps now you can more deeply appreciate my fascination with and passion for all things heritage and empathise with my incredible frustration with now residing in a State whose European heritage only stretches back as far as the 1800's! Really glad you're enjoying yourself, keep up the good blogging!
Love from 'Sick of Aboriginal Heritage' (although it is lovely).

hey mate
just read your history in a house blog.
just wanted to comment on what you where saying about the objects and items of today compared to that of yesteryear. i think it stems from the fact that in those times everything that was made was done by craftsmen, trade secrets past down from master to apprentice and with that a pride in the work. the only way they could get costum was by word of mouth not mass advertising and every piece created was almost a one of creation therefore a piece of art. i agree it does not compare with the mass produced fashionable items of today.
anyway that was all very deep and meaningful wasn't it, hope your haveing fun and have a few pints for me.
cheers Bilbo

Hi Iskandar
All that green is easy on the eye isn't it? Delighted to see your lapping up all the local experiences. I note you haven't mentioned trying the fabulous english ciders and beers yet. Nothing like a long cool cider in an english beer garden on a lazy Sunday a/noon..... Looking forward to reading your next installment on the life and times of Iskandar.
Big Ish
Hi little ish, read your blog, sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Isn't the English countryside stunning, a far cry from OZ. BBQ this weekend and the weather is good, what more can a body want. Love to Kate and family, and give Aunty Doreen a hig for me. Keep in touch and no doubt see you later in the year. Bye bye.

Dear Miss
So glad you're relishing the experience! As a fellow Anglophile I do understand how you feel. Can't wait for you to go to the Globe. Get off at Waterloo and turn right...a lovely walk along the south embankment, past the Tate, the OXO building...and you're there.
Stay safe.
