The festive season in Sydney To be honest, I wasn't overly keen on some of the clientele in this hostel in Sydney, as they came across lazy, un-ambitious, and would come in at 6am and stay in bed until midday and then stay in the TV room until 9 at night before going out again. I visited Newcastle which (don't quote me on it but,) I think is the 6th biggest City in Australia and home of the Newcastle Knights, who had the world famous Andrew Johns play for them (you can quote me on the Newcastle Knights bit). The Blue Mountains was a good escape from City life for the day. It was so quiet that during the times that we weren't talking between ourselves, you would probably have heard a pin drop. We took the 2 hour train journey from (Sydney) Central to Katoomba up in the Blue Mountains. We got a return for the cost of 10.90 dollars. We visited Manly which I didn't think was overly impressive. It was quite nice, the beach was quite nice, the streets were quite nice, even the McDonalds was quite nice, but "quite nice" is boring, and bland, so this place didn't exactly excite me.
