Wow! You guys need to get some video of your close calls so we can live the adventures too.
Taco Johns in Loveland closed. The world will never be the same, it's the end of an era.

Hi guys. I asked Brett about the rode jumping and then realized you said you HAD figured out something. I guess he put a removable pin on ours that held the rode in place. When released, it hung open (doesn't fall out of hole) so he can get everything up onto the boat. What did you end up using?
He said you guys are doing really well. Glad you figured out the canal depth problem. We stayed in the middle unless we had traffic, then we edged to the side until it read 9ft. There will be long stretches of no barges as you get further from Galveston, be aware.
Have a good time in Galveston.

Hi guys. I guess I've been sending all my messages to the wrong place for you. I hope you still got them. Glad you made it to Galveston already. We had trouble at Brazos River, too, but a different kind of problem. I guess you discovered it was downhill with a current? lol We rushed toward the back of a barge while we were waiting to get into the locks and had to put Benevolence in reverse to try and keep her slowed down so we wouldn't run into the barge. The current in the Brazos was strong too, as they had JUST opened the river after months of being closed. So we remember Brazos well, too. Sorry about your groundings- It is BOUND to happen on the ICW with your deep keel. I'll ask Brett about some tips on the rode jumping. I hope you are having a great time, learning lots, like we did.

Steve & Pammy,
Hey guys, glad to hear you are ok and the boat survived Ike. We saw some picture's from the Houston area, it sure looked bad. It was great seeing you when you were in FC. Hopefully, we'll be able to get down to the ocean and see you. After Hurricane season of course.
Take care and talk to you soon,

Pam and Steve - we were worried about you with this hurricane. Glad to hear all was okay and the boat escaped any damage. Whew! Jerry might be headed to Thailand for 4wks next month - still up in the air?? Was almost headed to Houston myself in October but plans never got rolling........ Just really glad to hear you two are okay. Looks like you are having a lot of fun. Oh Pam, we have a new one - a 4wk old baby girl. She was 4 1/2 lbs when we got her @ 5 days old. A real cutie!
