After a successful survey and sea trial, we are now ready to close on Solitaire. We should be moving into her the week before Christmas. When we were doing the sea trial, the captain - Charl - had her really hauling. The toe rail was almost in the water, he had her totally leaned over and really running. Pam thought that was a little too much excitement for her first time. I didn't know this before, but if the wind is blowing really hard (like it was) the sailboat can lean way over, but it won't ever tip all the way over due to the wind, because as soon as it leans over too far, the wind "spills" out of the sails and there's no logner any force on the sails to make it lean over any further. I told Pam that when we'd be sailing her, we'd keep it more level.
