Global Adventure '06
Whassup,
Okay so for this blog I haven't got the piccies, but there is not a lot in Canberra, albeit it's slightly more interesting than Brisbane and feels slightly nicer. The opening pic is of the Great Ocean road views which we didn't get to see, still you can't have everything. The main pictures of Canberra consist of me and Claire posing on some artworks in tasteful black and white, and a few tacky ones in colour too, no not really all our photos are of the highest quality. The rest of the afternoon was spent sat in a jacuzzi/spa at the hostel with a young chap called John from Australia and a nice French girl who told us her name but neither of us could remember it afterwards. It also has a sauna but we couldn't get it to heat up. It's stormy here so not all sunshine and tans, but it is still pretty warm, like an English good summers day. But for the capital city it's a little small, probably most towns in the UK are bigger, we walked the main centre of it in a few hours this arvo. We toyed with going to see a film but there is only the 2 cinemas. This is the capital of one of the largest countries in the world. Whilst we were out this arvo we saw a full on fist fight between 4 women, kicking, punching, hair pulling, in some states you'd probably pay good money for that kind of entertainment.
We head down to Melbourne tomorrow to meet up with Claires friend Sarah. Commonwealth games has started and the opening ceremony is on now, we'll be there tomorrow.
As you can tell I'm rambling slightly, so I'll stop and go write some rubbish in my other personal journal, which now has some rather excellent drawings of merry go rounds by Ivy Mae. That's me signing of for now from a wet stormy Canberra. Lots of love, Pete and Claire xxx
