hey there guyz!!
now it is time to start our online diary. so as you may know, we startet our trip on the 22th of april in munich with a flight to london and further to bangkok where we arrived in the afternoon. we went by bus to the youth hostel (or guesthouse or something) that we had allready bokked via inet and spent the rest of the day with chilling. the second day we did some sightseeing, we saw two tempels, the kings palace (the former palast, the king does not live in bangkok nowadays) an the lumpini park. the buddhist tempels were quite nice but most we liked the park becouse bangkok is a really huge city, of course the biggest one i have ever seen, and the air was not well. also it was very hot, the guy in the youth hostel told us on the third day 42 degrees at ten in the morning, so you can imagine how we felt with jetlag an sweating all the time... anyhow, we were in real luck because a netherland and a thai guy joined us so we hat to spend for transport (tuktuk and taxys)Â only the common prices and not the tourist prices. we made a ride with boat, wich is equal to a bus at home in this city, and another ride with the skytrain. matthias enjoied this very much. because of the heat an the noise and the thick air we decided to leave bangkok at the next day in the evening for kohtao. so the day we spent in the swimmingpool, but in the evening the bus did not come. so we had to spend another night there, at 6 in the morning we finally quit bangkok with the bus for kohtao.
we arrived kohtao in the late afternoon, when we got out the boat there were a lot ob busy man and woman screaming txi an acomodation and so on, this was really nasty! because of our free will we did a little walk on the coast to have a look for cheap bungalows but after half an hour with all our luggage in that damn heat, hias decided to take the first relatively cheap bungalow. so we rent a bungalow near the beach an the first thing we did was to jump into the sea. there we met an english couple, peter and sarah, with whom get went to dinner later on. chemical was just good between us and so after dinner we went out so the beach for some drinks, you know us, there were only two drinks... we had a good time there, chatting, playing poi, drinking, all in all we had much fun! the next day we found out that kohtao is good for two things: diving an party. all our neyghbors in the ressourt were drinking the whole day (we were not, i promise!) because we did not want to dive we spent another day at the beach an in bars, met met peter and sarah again und went for dinner with them for a second time in the evening. we allready had decided to leave kohtao the next morning, so we did not drink as much as the day before. when we got up then in the morning it was rainig, this was a really surprice but a nice one. we had to carry our backpacks to the pier so, we were glad to have some rain to keep temperature low. at the boat the rain was not as nice as before, the waves were very high. this was the first time in my live when i got seasick, i really thought i have to die! but after the boat trip which took us to koh phanghan i felt as well as before (but without my last breakfast). the situation was like at the pier in kohtao, but worse. so we ran away from all the friendly (but nasty) guys who wanted us to go to the ressourt and taxys of their relatives and had lung some hundred meters away from the port. i liked it quite well, as you can remember, my breakfast had gone...
Now I (Matthias) will continue our first travel journal entry. After lunch at Tong Shala we wanted to go to a beach called Ao Thong Nai Pang Yai which didn't work out that well because it's the other end of the island but luckily we found some Germans who wanted to go to the same place! Either ways Taxis arfe a rip off in Thailand and the just try to bring you to a resort, where they get commission! The beach was nice and calm and we slept at a place called Dreamland resort the first night but moved to a place called Dolphin Lodge at the second day as it was inside a jungle really natural and very chilled out. There we'd like with a japanese/english couple called Somi and Lee and some other guys from England. The bad thing about Ko Panghan was that it rained a lot but we even managed to go kayaking (and did much better than Lee and Somi) and had a nighttime swim (drunk for sure) with some other guys. We also went to a full moon party, that I left totally drunk (and alone as I lost Mike) and went home by Taxi. The drive ended at a fight, as I didn't have enough money. So the wife of the taxi driver freaked out and hit one of the guys at our lodge and wripped his chain. Lucky as always I didn't get heart and the guys helped me out with some money (as Mike told me the next day). After a chillout day we made our way to Kao Sok national park. The transport was not the best as we had to wait at the office of the minibus company for more than 2 hours just to give them a little extra business (eat and drink there).
Kao Sok is really the place we enjoy most (since our travel started) as we hiked the jungle yesterday for some hours with that crazy animal sound, mokeys in the trees and lot's of butterflies. Today we went tubing with 4 other guys on the river here (run down the river in tires). Jumped in the water from a rope and even saw a black mamba sleeping in a tree. We gottha go with those guys for dinner now and might do an elephant ride through the jungle tomorrow. We just have to keep an eye on our money as there is no ATM around.
We"ll ad some pictures when we find quicker internet and do the next blog in Koh Muk (the next island we'll go)
 Cheers Matthias and Mike!
