I know it's been a very long time since I have written on here, but there has been so much happening and I have such a bad memory for everything that every time I come to this blog, I have no idea what to write.
Here are some of the things I have been doing. We stayed in Cusco before I did the inca trail, which is a beautiful city, I would advise other people to go and visit it.
The Inca trail, which was bloody hard, the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, well the last 22 yrs. For anyone that hasn't heard of the inca trail, it is a 4 day hike, about 45 km and a lot of it is uphill. If you want to know more about it, just search for it on google. Going uphill was so hard for me and this one other girl, we were always at the back and I think the tour guides hated us because we were so slow. The views when you get to the top of some of the areas are just amazing and to realise what you have just done is something you'll never forget.
Some other things we have done, we did sandboarding, that was cool, I took some videos, but I seem to have lost them, but hopefully will find them again. Then we slept in the desert that night and had a party, because it was one of our last nights together. I dressed up as catwoman because one of the girls had never heard of her before. There were some crazy other outfits, one guy dressed up as a care bear! The only problem was that night that it rained on us. In the desert, it supposedly only rains about 4 times in the year and it happened to be that night. Quite a few of our cameras stopped working after that, including mine, so I had to go out and buy a new one.
The night before that we had stayed on the beach at a hostel and slept in tents there, well only about 5 out of 19 of us slept in tents because everyone else thought it was too cold. I slept in a tent because I'm so hardcore.
We went to a place called Lake Titicaca where we stayed with a family for the night and dressed in their local clothes and danced with them. They fed us, which was lovely, although I wasn't feeling that great at the time so didn't eat that much. There was a mother and a daughter in my place and I stayed there with a girl called Philippa from my tour.
I don't think I've spoken about Bolivia yet, but that country is different to other places in South America. It is one of the poorest countries in South America, but it is exciting. There is so much going on, like road blocks and miners strikes etc. Our truck/bus broke down and we were stuck in the desert for about 8 hrs. One girl had never gone to the toilet on the side of the road and that was where she learnt how to do it and never looked back. Because our bus broke down, we had to get alternative transport, so we god some 4x4s, which were cool. The roads are crazy in Bolivia, it's just driving through the desert, around the mountains, it's really pretty. The other drivers are crazy and hit one of the 4x4s and damaged it quite badly, so we were down to 3 from 4.
We went to the salt flats where you can take some cool pictures. If one person stands near the front, near the camera and someone else stands further back, you can make it look like they are standing on the people at the back. You will have to check out the pictures when I put them on here, because it's quite difficult to explain.
That is all I can think of for now, obviously I have done a lot more, but that is just a summary. I am now in Auckland, New Zealand, about to start my next adventure, so I will be on here trying to update my journal sometime.
Love you all xxx
