We woke up at around 8:30am and got up and sorted ready for our 10am check out. We nailed some instant porridge and we ready to roll after packing our bags up and doing a quick sweep of the room for anything that may be left, like passports, bank cards….you know those insignificant things when travelling.
We checked out on time and got our key deposit back and were then told that the bus that the hostel ran would be able to take us into the city at 10:30 if we wanted. I was never going to refuse that even though we had walked into town the previous day, it would be a whole different experience with a 20kg backpack amongst other bags.
The bus turned up, we said goodbye to Chris and Anna the couple from New Zealand and we were off to our next accommodation, which by luck was right outside where the bus dropped us off, result! We dropped our bags off as we were too early for check in we decided to go and sort out dates for the trips we had booked at Peter Pans, which was next door to Global Central.
After a few hours we had worked out the itinerary for our East Coast Adventure with tours and accommodation all sorted and it was then time to check in to the hostel. We got our keys and paid the bill, we then dumped our bags in our room and went back out to hire an underwater digital camera for the reef the next day. Once we had sorted that we familiarised ourselves with the marina and where we had to meet our boat Amy also had a go at getting to grips with her panoramic pictures app that she got for her iPhone the night before. Once the whole of the marina had been captured on Amy's phone we headed over to P.J O'Briens, the local irish bar to take advantage of the cheap meal deal on there. Once we had scoffed our faces we headed back to the hostel for an early night ready for Diving the Great Barrier Reef.
