hope everyone is LEKKA!
sorry its been so long im just to busy! got lots to tell so better get started. been to kruger park which was amazing!! I saw so many animals, i didnt think i would ever get bored of seeing elephants but after tree days you do! The highlight must of been seeing a cheetah.
the lads im staying with are all wicked, getting in loads of drinking games before going to snoopie most nights (the local bar & only one) drinks are so cheap!! 60p a beer but trying the local shot is a experiance i didnt like 'stump rum' 80% alcohol and keeps u pissed for two days!
im putting loads of weight on with all these braai's u have over here but the meat is so nice & taste. the steaks are the biggest you have ever seen.
The school & pupils are fantastic. Its still weird being called 'sir' but the pupils are all so welcoming. teaching mostly swimming & cricket but have to look after classes when teachers are busy. The first day & i was chucked in a class of screaming 8 year olds on my own. I have so much respecked for any teacher out their now!! Swimming is a major challenge as most dont no how to swim & have had no coaching as most of the teachers cant swim there self but they just love splashing (mainly me)
The cricket is very enjoyable as the school has a very good girls cricket team which we have been working with for the past month & they have just been in the provance final which was one of the best games i have ever seen. they draw chasing 230 to win, only needing a run from the last over we lost are last two wickets to drew but it was the first time a black girls team had been in the final. it is a whites game & blacks are not treated the same way when it comes to cricket so it was a great acheivement.
on the hole im having an arsome time but you realy see how well off we are back home & how lucky we are. some of the kids at the school have lost the parents to HIV & you know they probably have it but the school can do nothing to help them because of goverment roles!
i teach soccer at an outreach school to twice a week which is more of a challenge as they have very little english but very enjoyable. The only thing i dont like is the treatment of the kids at that school as the teachers can hit them or give them a chinese burn infront of you which is ment to be band in south africa.
Lastly because im probably boring you i saw my first snake yesturday & it was a 'black mamba' a bite from that & your dead in a hour if you dont get the anti venium. the nearest anti venium is three hours away so your stuffed!
Anyway better go! its 37 degrees today so im off to the pool! (tans coming along very well by the way)
