The 8th of June was Stus birthday and as a nice present, Jess had bought him and her a Skydive on Redcliffe beach. They asked if I would drive them up there, which of course I said I would. In addition, having won the free skydive, Scott also wanted to do his skydive.
We set off, with Stu navigating in the Guns and Roses machine, me driving and Lauren, Scott and Jess in the back. We had a funny exit from the city, with Guns and Roses playing from Laurens Zune (the most rediculous music player ever Lauren) and finally dubbing the car 'Axel'.
We arrived at the beach nice and early at 9:30am, as Stu and Jess's dive was at 10:30am. We parked up and headed in for a quick coffee next door to pass some time. At 10:30 Stu and Jess began getting ready, signing a large amount of waivers and getting geared up. They then set off, getting a shuttle to Brisbane Airport.
In the meanwhile I suggested we walk to the landing site, after glancing at a map provided by the skydive office and seeing it said 15 minutes away. Scotts jump was scheduled for later in the day, and so myself, Scott and Lauren began walking to the landing site.
After about 30 minutes walking, I rechecked the map, only to discover it said '15 minutes by car' - Oops! Worried we would miss the dive, we walked quickly to the landing site, eventually arriving at the landing site after almost an hours walk. Thankfully, the guys plane was delayed on take-off, and we made it just in time.
Stu and Jess absolutely loved it, and it was great watching them coming in to land, especially after seeing just from how high they had emerged. After they landed, myself and Scott jumped in the shuttle back to the Skydive office for him to prepare for his jump. His was also delayed until 4pm, and so we picked up the car and went and fetched Stu, Jess and Lauren from the landing site.
After spending most of the day chilling out in Redcliffe, unfortunately Scotts skydive was cancelled and we headed back to the hostel. In the evening, we went out for Stus birthday into Brisbane city centre.
