Ahhhh..paradise found. After a 15hr bus journey from San C we were terribly upset to find a deserted beach with whiter than white sand, clear turquoise sea and picture prefect palm trees waiting for us. We shacked up in a beach side cabin and went back to basics with no hot water, no electricty, no mod cons whatsoever just bare feet, candles and the sea. It was bliss, the caribbean ocean was our garden and the sun shone (almost) everyday, though when it didn´t we had some fantastic storms to watch.
Ian was in his element climbing up palm trees to collect coconuts and then bashing them open and mixing us cocktails with the juice, rum and lime. I was in my element lying in the sun saying encouraging words and sipping upon said cocktails. We snorkeled and saw erays, parrot fish, angel fish of every size and colour, trumpet fish, crabs, starfish etc etc etc. we ate some of the fish we saw. We even managed to look around the Mayan site of Tulum, perched on a cliff above the beach- what a site they chose. Fun was had with Asad and Adi, Tom and Russell and lots of Finnish chicas!
Painfully we tore ourselves away..
