Fantastic time in Stanley Park today looking at lots of large erect pieces of wood. Not what you think :-) but amazing carved totem poles by the first nation. Having a well deserved drink now before venturing out for more delicious food this evening.

Time to cycle! We love it so today we hired cycles and took the opportunity to test out the amazing network of dedicated cycle lanes in this superb city. We cycled 11 km in total to Stanley Park which is ironic in itself as Ally's maiden name is Stanley!

Jetlag............enough said. Burger, fries and a gallon of coke sorted us out.

Today we went to Granville Island, a vibrant hotchpotch of tin sheds just outside Downtown Vancouver. Caught the 'Aquabus' ( water taxi) to get there. The indoor market was absolutely stunning, a gastronomic joy. Locally sourced foods in abundance, with maple smoked salmon catching the eye. Back to the mainland and a walk along Sunset Beach, people watching and chilling in the warmth of the afternoon sun. Lovely.
