Ahhhh, chilled, had our first fried breakfast because the croissants were
even worse than the last place!
The bacon was so thin it was crispy by the time I'd turned the grill on! But
the Mushrooms, tomatoes and fried eggs were something to make everyone else
on the camp site jealous - apparently. Even the two mountain bikers that went
past slowed down (we could hear the gravel skids behind the hedge!) to see
what we were cooking :-) ) Of course we worked it all off in the afternoon
when we went for a little tootle on the bikes to explore the local. claire
didn't like the hills and I'm trying to ween her off beign pushed up them
:-). The ride was fine, we tried a little bit of offroad but it was too much
for Claire (being as she is riding a hybrid!), but I went on to ride the
local "easy" ride - that was a shocker. There were logs on the track - in
line packing a 6ft wide track so that it was unrideable - that went on for
about 1/4 of a mile. The rest of the intial downhill was fine but then when
it came to the uphill the track had been packed with large flinty stones
which made the riding "tres dificlt" - in fact almost impossible....... I
have to admit that I dabbed twice :-( on an easy route........ gah, terrible!
Think I might go off and try the "hard" route tomorrow!
While we were riding through the forests I kept noticing that there were all
sorts of mushrooms - everywhere...... small types of puffball, boletus and
lots of others - it's amazing - a gourmands dream. We found a park called
Clorophyl Park - it's for kids really but it's a big wooden playground in the
woods, it's all fenced in so that they can't wander off and the play stuff
inside is all made out off wood, it looks great! Wish we qualified to go in
and have a play!
It's a cold night tonight for some reason, by the time we'd cooked dinner and
washed up, ditched the rubbish (they have a real problem with Wild Cats here)
in the secure bins..... we went to the bar to watch the rest of the site play
Dutch bingo...... at least the host was kind enough to do the numbers in both
Dutch and English but as with all bingo (when you're playing for talcum
powder prizes!) it was failry tame! The entertaining bit was the George and
Mildred music in the intervals - if we've managed to sort it it ought to be
the background music on the site for at least the set of photos that go with
this location! I hope we can sort that! :-)
Oh my god, you know you've been in the bar too long when the prizes get to a
bottle of beer and a mousemat (no, seriously), a small basket of smellys
(soap I think!) and........ wait for
it..........................................a collender! Time to retire I
think!
All the best (prizes and wishes)
Ian and Claire
