Just a very quick note as I keep saying I will update my site but never do!!! Ok so we left Auckland via bus and went to Whakatane (pronouced Facataneeee) Here we met a german dude called Franz and started bumming lifts off him as he was also looking for work. We travelled alog the coast to Opotikia as we had been promised work. This never happened! "There is work but I cant say when" what the hell does that mean!! Anyway we stayed here for four days and made friends with some germans and a dutch bloke. Had a BBQ and went to a beach on a couple of occasions (body boarded very badly). From here we then (Franz, Ben and myself) headed south to Hastings where we finally got work on an apple orchard called Blyth Orchard. For the following month we lived in a caravan on the orchard and did as little work as possible. I managed to get told off twice, Im so naughty! But even though we did hardly any thinning they loved us and have offered us work in February. Whilst in Hastings we made many friends including Czechs, Kiwis and some French geezers. Also we went not once but twice to the worst nightclub youve ever seen. This place is so bad it makes Studios (Yeovilites will understand) look like the don of all nightclubs. It was strange even though it was shocking you just got drawn back to the place. When we left we had made enough money to buy a car (mazda 323 1986) and we left Franz to head north on a road trip to the Bay of Islands.
