Fortunately we were offered a place to stay in Singapore with an Irish guy called Ross. Unfortunately we'd been given his wrong phone number and spent 3hrs waiting at the train station on Thursday morning. After nipping into China Town for something to eat, loaded down with rucksacks, we thought it best to check in to a lodge for the time being. We dumped our stuff and did what all girls do in a time of crisis - shop! We eventually managed to speak to him and checked out the lodge 2hrs after we'd checked in. Completely worth it though, Ross has a completely gorgeous apartment on the 36th floor with amazing views of Singapore. Once again we dumped our bags and went back to the shops. We hit Orchard Road, which the Lonely Planet Guide describes as a place to go armed with a gold card. We have no idea who the taxi driver thought we were as he took us straight to the worlds most expensive shopping mall, Cartier, Bvlgari, Gucci, LV, Hermes, Channel, Prada... we walked in through the back entrance and straight out through the front. As it was our first night in Singapore Ross offered to take us out for dinner so we met up with him and his boss Billy around 10.30 for a drink. Within 2 seconds of walking into our first bar we were asked to leave by a hostesses & a waitress who took an instant disliking to Danielle's rubber flip-flops! Dinner was brilliant, nice restaurant by the side of the river followed by what was supposed to be a quick look around Ministry of Sound, in preparation for our night there tomorrow. 4 hours and a lot of vodka later we left . . and had the funniest jouney home in a rickshaw, mainly driven by Danielle.Â

On Friday we went over to Little India to . . shop and eat samosas! We went straight from there to Raffles Hotel for Tiffin (high tea) which was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything about our time there was perfect, the food, the tea, the staff, the tea, the surroundings, the tea . . We didn't want to leave so went upstairs to the musuem and then to the Long Bar where the Singapore Sling was first created. Not wanting to look like complete tourists we sat down and ordered mojito's at first . . then followed by Singapore Slings. That night can only be described as an extreme barcrawl with style. We went from Forbidden City, to Fashion Bar, China 1, Barfly, Clinic and then Ministry. Each place was really unique, we loved them all.

Yesterday we went over to Sentosa Island which is made up of theme parks, beaches, bars & hotels. It's very small but there's loads to do including the 4D cinema which left Danielle traumatised, Underwater World where we got to stroke Stingray, Dolphin Lagoon which although it's the worst show in the world ever, it has pink dolphins. The beaches were full of people our age having a laugh with their mates, playing volleyball, sunbathing, swimming etc. It was a great place to be but it got even better when we found Cafe del Mar. Sunset wasn't as good as Ibiza but the bar was definitely the place to be seen and was full of rich kids. In Singapore people display their wealth through their children, making sure they have the best of everything, poor things. We left Sentosa and got a taxi to the Singapore Night Safari. Withing ten minutes of arriving Danielle had been pulled on-stage with a group of tribal dancers/warriors, loving every second of being surrounded by a group of hot sweaty half naked men! We got a tram round the night safari seeing, elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, hyenas, buffalo, anteaters and lots of other animals. It was set in a rainforest, making it that little bit more natural than West Midlands Safari Park. We got home and joined Ross and a few of his friends in a couple of drinks before getting ready and going out. It was around 1 by the time we got out so went straight to Atica, this was a place ful of wealthy ex-pats, all a little pretentious and very clicquey, so we had a few drinks and left. We called in to the Fashion Bar for another drink before heading off to a near by street kitchen for chicken curry biryani, mutton curry and chippatis ........ that will be 3 pound please - no need to do a legger from this place !
