Hey,
We drove from Rome to Venice on the 9th June, we had a stop off on the way in Verona the home of Romeo and Juliet, we even got to see Juliets Balcony and theres a statue of her there, apparntly if you rub her left boob you get good luck so i gave her a good tickle up!
(if i look like im drunk writing this, im not but the y and the z are in opposite places on the keyboard and its a pain in the ass)!!!
We arrived in Venice about 6pm and got settled into our wee cabins, all our accomodation in Italy was very similar, all real cool camping grounds with awesome pools and bars etc.
There was a toga party organised for us that night in the bar so we all paid our 1 euro and got our sheet and got creative. Some very entertaining costumes arose especially from the boys.
The next day we headed into Venice for our guided tour, (we didnt actually stay in Venice). Venice is a series of small islands that is essentially swamp land, so basically theres no roads or cars IN Venice its just a whole heap of canals and the only way to get around is bý boat or foot.
It was a really amazing place and im pleased i went when i did because apparntly it wont be there in about 10 years because of global warming, it used to get about 40 floods a year and now it gets about 160.
Did a bit of shopping in Venice, there known for there Venetian glass and lace (but the lace was henious and expensive) so i opted for the glass earings etc haha.
We got to go on a canal ride which was cool, but our driver didnt serenade us so that was a let down. Had an early night that night ready for the Austrian Tyrol the next day!
