Hi everyone!!
Sorry its been a while...all this travelling lark fills your days!!! Hope you keep checking out our photos?? We wouldn't want you to miss a photo of a beautiful beach or us having a great time!!!
We've left the cities of KL and Singapore behind and since our last pod been to the bueatiful jungle, called Teman Negara (130 million years old!!) it's an incredably big rainforest/jungle in the centre of Malaysia. We stayed in a basic hut on the river bank and had a giant spider living in our bathroom!!! (Talk about authentic jungle experience!!!) After trying to reason with it......he wasn't having any of it......we decided to let him stay (Much to the joy of Holly!!!)
Our time in Teman Negara was short (as it was sooooo expensive) so we decided to pack in as many activities as possible......starting with a night walk through the jungle on our arrival. It was amzing, we've never seen so many stars!!! It was pitch black and as Emma stole our torch (sorry Emma!!) we bourght the biggest torch we could!!! We saw loads of massive insects, spiders, and snakes!! We had an amzing time. (check out the photos!!)
We were up early the next day to do the canopy walkway over the rainforest. It was 7 different walkways elevated above the jungle. All you had was a very small plank of wood to walk on and a rope either side of you....it was terrifying!!!! At the highest point we we 70 meters up!!!
After the Canopy walkway john did a Hill trek through the rainforest to the top of Bresek Hill. Holly wasn't being lazy but she felt dreadful after eating something that didn't agree with her. However shes glad she didn't now as John was half dead when he returned....and has not been a well man since!!! We not cut out for treking I think!!!
In the afternoon we tackled the rapids and got wetter than if we'd just got in the river!! Then lastly we went on a jungle safari in the evening. We unfortunatley didn't see too much.....however John did come face to face with a shifty looking Barn Owl....Holly laughed and laughed!!!! He he!! (to explain John has a phobia of owls ....he says they look like their up to sometHing!!!)
We left Teman Negara the next day.....and finally got dry!! ( the jungle was sooooo sticky I don't think we ever dryed off!!!) However, the only hiking we'll be doing now is getting to the beach from or beachside shack on the Perentian Islands. Its paradise, clear waters, powder sand and blue skies!!! We are now getting back to the serious matter of getting our tans back before we return.....or in John's case trying to be less white!!!! Best bit is we should be swimming with turtles in the next few days!!!!! YEY!!!!
Anywho, I think we've babbled enough!!
Take care everyone, love you all millions and missing you tonnes!!!
