Day 27 - Our last day in Bolivia, 5000 meters altitude, the stunning Lago Verde then our final journey to the remotest of borders....... to CHILE, DESTINATION 18!! Day 26 - The dusty and bumpy dry planes of the Altiplano, spectacular volcanoes, flamingos and deep green lakes! After rolls for breakfast we were back in our jeeps for the dusty and bumpy ride across the Altiplano, a hot and long day of nothing but harsh desert landscape but worth every moment and bump (although those in the back of the jeeps, e.g. Ian might not think so!). Day 25 - The surreal and crazy Salar de Uyuni - Salt Flats of Bolivia at 3653m and climbing into Pringles tubes and beer bottles!! Excitedly we quickly explored the local markets of this dusty small town, bought some bits n bobs then in our mixed groups boarded our home for the next 3 days, a jeep! Half the jeeps looked like they wouldn't make it to the end of the road let alone across the bumpy rocky desert for 3 days, will they last.... we will see! Jeep day 1 ...

Day 24 -Across the desert to the start of the salt flats at Uyuni! Today saw us boarding our local bus for the remote 8 hour journey across the desert to a small town basically in the middle of nowhere -Uyuni! Day 23 - Onwards to the Silver Mining Area and highest city in the world - Potosi at 4000 metres altitude!
