19/08/2011 Day 10. Foothills of the Tatra Mountains, Slovakia. Set off at 8 this morning with me starting the drive. I had two albums in mind to listen to. I listened to "the swell season" by Glen hansard and "the black album" by Metallica. Awesome soundtrack. I drove until we left Poland and entered Slovakia. 18/08/2011 Day 9. Krakow Got up at 8 this morning to get to the minibus to take us to Wieliczka Salt Mine. We arrived around 10am and the tour was to last around 2 hours. The temperature was already breaking the 20 degree mark and the sun was beaming. Again, packing the sun cream helped so I applied a layer. After some faffing around our guide got hold of us and took us to the stairs. 360 steps took us 65 metres deep, almost twice as deep as the Czech silver min...

17/08/2011 Day 8. Kutna Hora - Auschwitz - Krakow Got up at 5.30 this morning, it was still dark! Bright and early. Set off for Poland at 6 sharpish. Aaron and Nick did the drive. A good 6 and a half hours drive over the border got us to Auschwitz. Initially it was hard to grasp the scale of the place. The pictures don't really do it "justice". There were fields full of double sets of chimneys, the only remnants of the barrack like wooden buildings the prisoners...

16/08/2011 Day 6. Kunta Hora Set off from Prague about 10 and landed at the motorhome park at about 12 at kunta hora. There were some mad roads and Aaron was driving for the first time. He did well though! We didn't die once. Got the van into a space and then the sun came out and stayed out for the rest of the day. Walked into the town and went to have a look at what was on offer. 15/08/11 Day 5. Berlin - Czech Republic, Prague Got out of the motorhome park in Berlin at 10 and headed for Czech Republic. Dave was at the helm for the first 200km followed by Sam E. Unfortunately for Sam, there was lots of traffic on the autobahn and rain! It made out journey an hour longer than it should have been.
