Kind of left Australia without finishing it off, so as it is raining out side at the moment I thought I would cap it off. We spent three days in Brisbane and flew out of Brisbane airport to Singapore. Brisbane for all the sky scrappers is a very laid back place. On the way into the city we took a river ferry which was a good introduction to the city, with some expensive looking houses by the riverside, each with its own boat. I was lucky enough to have some family friends in Brisbane who were nice enough to put us up. It was a great chance to see them as I hadn't for nearly 6 years! It was especially nice of them to put us up as they are moving into their new house (which they are building) in a matter of weeks. They were so kind to us, they took us out for dinner, we ate so much. They also took us to see their son play rugby (his team won) and just made us feel at home, which is such a nice thing after being away from one for so long. John works for the British Consulate in Brisbane and took us into his office on the week end so technically we actually spent some time in Britain whist in Australia. It was a very British place with pictures of the queen everywhere, but it was the view from his office over the city which was possibly the best of all. Thanks Sheryl, John and Craig, we both had a lovely time.
