We set off from La Paz with an early morning bus to Copacabana which is the main Bolivian town on the shore of Lake Titicaca. Unfortunately our journey made was a bit uncomfortable due to me having a dodgy stomach and Helen feeding me pills and holding the sick bag ready just in case. We eventually made it without evening up the sick scores....
On arrival I felt much worse though and went straight to bed. This was to be a common theme in our time here as both helen and I were both laid low at one time or another by some bug. This meant we didn't get to do as much as we had wanted in Copacabana. We decided to extend our stay here for an extra night and try to see some of the sights and cut Puno out of our trip which was just a stop gap for our bus to Cusco really. We met Shannon and Mark during our stay and they gave us a guaranteed cure of rehydration tablet and club social biscuits which did actually seem to do the the trick.
When we were both finally out of bed Helen and I took a boat trip to the Isla del sol which is about an hour and a half away. This gave us a really nice chance to look at the surroundings of Lake Titicaca which was really beautiful. Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America and also the highest lake in the world. The island del sol was really nice although you are greeted by some very steep steeps on arrival which we found hard work after not eating for a couple of days.
Overall Copacabana was a very nice place but we didn't fully get to enjoy the area due to our illnesses.

Neil Sorry to hear about the travel upsets. Did you mange to get to the floating reed islands on Titicaca? We found them most interesting.
