We set off on our whale watching tour today, one of the things I was most looking forward to. We had this german girl on our bus who causes a bit of havoc wherever she goes...So after we`re about an hour from Quebec she mentions to our tour guide that she thinks she may have `'thrown her phone away' at breakfast (who does that kind of thing!!) after a bit of a drama ringing up the hostel and getting them to search through this mornings bin bags she casually finds the phone....oh dear, it all akes for much more entertaining journey though. We stop at a church where 'miracles' happen and then we carry on driving until we reach tadoussac, its a cute little village place were there are supposedly lots of whales!!

Three of us do the whale watching excursion. At first Im a bit regretful, I seem to be in the wettest place on the boat. Not fun. Plus no whales to be seen for a good half an hour as we speed along the ocean. Then it all happens, that first puff of water and then there were whales popping up her there and everywhere. Amazing!

Back to the hostel where we (attempt) to eat our crab dinner, bits of shell and crab juice are flying about all over the place, its a fine old sight for the French canadians! Then we listen to a two piece french band, accordian et al, but then theres a power cut and the whole islands out of electricity and the band need to go acoustic. (there a rumour the chaotic German girl had a part to play- we're not all that surprised!)
