On day 2 we visited a local´s house which is typically built from Stone or Mud bricks and has a grass roof. Each house has a fire going permanantly and you can see the family´s guinea pigs living next to the fireplace here. These guineas are not really pets, as guinea pig is a fine delicacy in Peru. These little critters would likely get the chop at xmas time.
