This is the front of the drop-in centre where I spent the last two days of my last week of rotation in Delhi. SAHARA is an NGO working to educate about safer sex and drug-injection practices, especially as they relate to HIV/AIDS. The organization has funding from the Elton John AIDS Foundation for this particular site. They are able to provide free condoms, free sterile syringes and needles, and oral substitution therapy (OST) where the addicts are given a pharmaceutical-type drug which gives them the same high as heroin so they can be weaned off their drug addictions.
