Hey All,
Well it has been a while since I updated this - so this will be very brief! Last update was Prague, we spent 2 days there and the went to Germany and spent our last week of our Europe adventure there. We had a few quiet random days in small German towns down south - where no one spoke any English at all, then went to Berlin. I loved Berlin! The first day we did a 5hr biking tour of the city which was really cool - seeing all the sights, then the following day we went to the Sachenhausen concentration camp. Our supposely 1/2 an hour trip there took about 3 hours - as we had issues with the trains! Then it was back into Berlin, where we went to the dodgy East side for a look. The nest day we went to the Olympic stadium that was built under Hitlers power in 1936. That afternoon we went to a little town 20km from Berlin called Potsdam, on our way to Lausitz for the red bull air race that was on in the weekend. We went there for both days - it rained the entire first day and we had uncovered seats! So the 2nd day when we seen the sun it was way better! After it finished on Sunday we started our drive back to Calais, stopping the following day in Luxembourg for cheap fuel and a look around the city!
We spent one day in London, caught up with G Jim and C at night, then were meant to fly to Toronto the following day. A bit of an issue at the airport - our bags were 13kg over weight - that would cost us over 130 pounds. So we decided to try wear more clothes - but only had 20 minutes to repack before checkin closed. While eyeing up our packs and bags, trying to decide how to tackle it, 2 of the airline staff came over and told us that they had overbooked the flight and were looking for people to volunteer to not go. So they offered to fly us to Glasgow, where we would fly out the following morning first thing, hotel, $ for meals for the day, vouchers totalling pretty much what our fligthts cost, and to pay for 1/2 of our over weight luggage. We accepted as wearing 13kg of clothes would have been impossible. And by the next day we had managed to cut 12kg of luggage - so worked out even better for us! When we finally made it to Toronto, we had an awesome time. Did heaps of sightseeing in the city, and met up with Denyse (who I met at uni in Duners). She took us to Niagra falls too, (the canadian side is way cooler than the US sidee too). We went on a boat that went right into the falls and got soaked, and went to the biggest casino i have ever been to that night. Then we went to see the falls at night - they are all lit up different colours which is really cool.
And now we are in NY - this city is amazing, and the shoppings good too! We have been doing heaps of sightseeing, and even made in to the Yankees game last night which was awesome to see!
Nyway, best get back too it. .
