After driving down from Vancouve to Bellingham, just over the US border, we boarded the Alaskan Marine Highway Ferry, Malaspina, which took us, via the inside passage, to Alaska over the next few days. The ferry journey was a great experience. The top deck had people campinhg out in tents, just held down on the deck with masking tape. In the lounges there were all manner of sleeping arrangements with foam mattresses, pillows, sleeping bags all over the place. ...

Arrived in Vancouver Saturday 29th May. Now Thurs 3rd June. Tomorrow on Friday 4th June . On Friday we go down to Seattle for some shopping then at 1600 we board the Alaska marine Ferry for a cruise to Juneau (us, Amy and Ross and Mary Anne)- then chartered plane to Gustavus where we have chartered a 46' cruiser (with skipper and cook and kayaks ) to cruise around Glacier Bay - then back to Vancouver for a couple of days then to HK for a couple of days then home ...

Blog at Sea On QM2 - Wednesday 19th May 2010 We boarded the Queen Mary 2 very easily on Saturday afternoon. Our cabin is spacious and has a large balcony, with double doors opening out to it so that it is lovely and light in the cabin as well as having a sea vista.
