Sorry I have been so hopeless with the blog entries. They are harder to find time to do! Alot has happened since I last wrote. Tim and I left India!! 3 weeks was long enough I feel for our first visit. We had to resort to staying at the Leela, an amazing hotel! Anyway we had an amazing time there and I was so nice to see so much of such a large country. We left Mumbai on the 25th of January and flew to Bangkok! Bangkok airport is huge and brand new. In fact the whole of Bangkok seems like luxury compared to Mumbai. The buildings are all gorgeous. Massive high rise architecturaly amazing buildings. Tim and I spent two nights there. The shopping was amazing. The malls are just like american ones but far more decadent. The markets were hectic but an experience I will never forget. Alot of bartaring went on. On our last evening we decided to pay a visit to the rooftop bar vertigo and OMG did we feel the vertigo! Its 60 floors above the busy streets below and sits on top of the Banyan Tree Hotel. Cocktails and dinner are served at outrageous prices. We had our one cocktail just to say we had been. It was incredible. The photos we took will show you when U get round to sending them home or uploading them.
We left Bangkok on the 28th and flew to Ko Samui. An island on the East Coast of Thailand. When we arrived it was cloudy and I couldnt see what all the fuss was about but the next day when the sun came out and we hired a scooter - lethal!! it was as beautiful as we imagined. We spent the day whizzing round (i mean so slowly!) visiting all the famous beaches.
The next day we spent on Bo Phut beach- gorgeous and had an hour long thai massage. lovely!
Yesterday we went to An Thong National Park. We spent the morning Kayaking round the idyllic islands going inside limestone caves and under some seriously overhanging cliffs and then stopped for a quick walk to a lagoon trapped inside a mountain. We stopped and had a thai lunch served on the boat and shortly after got off the boat again to visit another island. This time we were told there was a look out 500m above sea level that you had to take a 'nature path' to! not a nature path. A vertical cliff that we had to climb up with the help of ropes to the most incredible view I have ever seen. Overlooking all 260 islands in the samui archipelago surrounded by turquiose waters and white sand. Seriously breathtaking. The walk on the other hand was knackering and it was such a treat to jump in the clear blue sea when we reached thw bottom after tim nearly got eaten by a snake!
I have to as taxi has arrived to take us to other hotel. But hope thats ok and will write some more soon. I promise!
Miss you all lots xxx
