Finally we turned north along the Stuart Highway and found a most wonderful campsite west of Elliot called Longlands Waterhole, part of the Macarther River sytem. It was alive with fish and birdlife.

Off again this time crossing the Northern Territory border , stopping briefly at the Barkly Homestead roadhouse, and camping a little further along the track. Another free camp.

Drove to Camoweel and did a tour of the Drovers Museum. Good but biased towards the European side of the story of droving and settlement. Camped beside the Camoweel billabong overnight.
