So we have come across some free internet and making the most of it with a blog update for all you good people!
After leaving HanCocks uncle and aunts with clean washed clothes we stayed in Durban for a few days. After walking for a few hours towards the beachfont and the casino our bellies were rumbling so we began the search for food. Quickly realising it was dark and we were quite far from our backpackers we found refuge in an indian restaurant eating some bunnychow! We had somehow managed to wander into a 'caution' area and soon realised we were in need of a taxi out and back to backpackers. Got a telling off from the taxi man for being in the area after dark.... oops!
From Durban we Baz bussed our way to Eshowe, in the middle of Zululand. Managed to arrive on the day of some crazy artists gallery opening and were quickly put to work in helping him prepare for the big evening. After some flower cutting and very dubious arranging we enjoyed the evenings entertainments and free food! The rest of stay in Eshowe was a blur of activities, alcohol and new friends.
Next stop St Lucia the land of the hippo. After returning back to the backpackers after a boat cruise on the lake we were reunited with said new friends... sure we were being followed! The rest of the week was spent in the same manner as Eshowe. After the crazy week we were in need of a rest and escaped to Swaziland.
Stayed in the middle of a nature reserve and were greeted most mornings with warthog and osterich outside our windows. Nice place to chill and take in the scenery with some walks. Also turned out be the place to hitch a ride, got rescued by many people as we wandering towards nowhere.
From Swaziland we journeyed to Nelspruit. Here we celebrated Hanna's birthday by hiring a car and going on a roadtrip to Blyde River Canyon and surrounding areas. Finished the day with some good pancakes, a rather large plate of meat and chips in O'Hagans (blatently an irish bar) and a extra chocolatey cornflake cake :)
So we are now in Jo'burg at the end of our time in South Africa which has been amazing and gone soooo fast!
Next correspondance will be from deep within the riots of Thailand!!!
Lots of Love
Hanna(h)s xx
