Well I fitted everything into my panniers!! The only problem is that my stuff, including tent, bike lock and everything I'll need for the next two months weighs 20kg, and that's not including the food and water that I will need.. I am either going to be incredibly fit by the end of the trip or do a lot of walking or, as a lot of people have sid, book myself into a hostel and only go for day trips. I would like to tell you that the shortest time anyone has predicted for me to last is two nights - thanks for the confidence but I will make sure it is at least three nights!
I am now in Dubai. I flew Emirates and the plane was amazing. The plane was about 10% full so we could stretch out and there were hundreds of films and good food and an under plane camera that you could call up to see what we were flying over. It wasn't the new airbus though, I may get that on the next leg. When we arrived in Dubai it was dark and seriously foggy so not much to tell you aabout Dubai yet althiugh everything is huge, including the 14 lane motorway! It is really good to see where Sarah lives and to try to understand the culture here.
Happy New Year whatever time zone you are in! Have a wonderful 2009!
ps. The picture isn't Dubai, you just have to add a picture to complete a blog?
