We arrived in Mysore after a looong night bus. Pretty much got no sleep as it was an AC bus so I was pretty chilly! We only had this one day in Mysore due to Tom being unwell in Hampi. We came over the hill in our tuk tuk into Hampi and wow what a view! Pretty darn impressive. Lots of huge boulders on the landscape surrounded by lots of banana plantations. We stayed in a place called Calangute in Goa, a small beach town. Lots of greenery, palm trees and banana plants everywhere. We had a nice little guest house even if our room did smell a bit funny! Everything seemed newly painted and decorated which was nice. One thing we noticed was that the majority of buildings in the area all seemed to have blue tarpaulin over their roofs, including our hotel. Before we went to Mumbai we stopped off at the Ajanta caves. These are ancient caves, dug out by hand, and contain many ancient statues and paintings ranging from the 2nd to 6th century!
