Hello Everyone- here is a MASSIVE update for you all!
We are currently in Krabi! It has been a mad week and a half with lots of travelling! We left Heathrow without any problems...apart from at the start of the flight where Hannah turned to Jamie and Kirsty with her deflated air pillow and said, "Are you allowed to blow things up on planes?"...And then repeating herself until she realised the context of what she was saying!
We arrived at Bangkok in the afternoon and investigated Khoasan Road, and the cocktails made us very sleepy! (Aswell as leading us to divulge lots of secrets in a deadly game of I have never!)
The next day we did some sightseeing in Bangkok including the Grand Palace and the forty foot Buddha by Tuk Tuk which was death defying!!!
That evening we tok a thirteen hour bus ride down to Surrathannae where we got a boat across to Koh Phanghan! In hindsight wew should have had a place to stay on the Island..but we didnt so they tried to get us to stay somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the jungle! Visions of Ei Roth's Hostel sprung to mind! We said NO! and we ended up staying in luxurious bungalows off of Malibu Beach!
The main purpose of going to Koh Phangan was to go to the Full Moon Party in Haad Rin! We started off siping cocktails with some Aussies we met and then headed to the South of the Island! The atmosphere was electric! It was the best night ever! Everyone thought we were Swedish (meet Cassie and Ariel!) so we started saying we were when people asked...then some guys asked us where we were from so Kirsty said Stockholm 9that is the only place she knows) and then they started talking to us in Swedish so we kept replying with, 'Yar, Yar." and then Hannah said she was Australian!
That night was crazy, Hannah got hit on the head with a bottle twice! And there were loads of fireworks! We met loads of people though and lost Jamie for about 2 hours...and he had some tales to tell when he got back...
We got Pizza at half 5 and then headed home, shattered!
We then headed to Bottle Beach where we climbed a VERY tall mountain with some nutty nurses from Norwich! The beach was beautiful and the view from the top of the mountain was breathtaking...even if we had to balance on some very steep edges above sheer drops!
Next we headed beack to Haad Rin which was alot calmer than two night previously! And we watched some firethrowers for entertainment on the beach that eve! We then went elephant trekking through the jungle! The guy declared his love to Hannah to which Hannah replied..that's a bit deep! The elephants sprayed us with water, dust and saliva!
We left Jamie to head to Krabbi! Another very long journey via bus, taxi, youte, ferry, tuk tuk! But we're here now! Yesterday we went to Railay via longboat. Railay was stunning! Then today we headed to the Phi phi islands which was the best trip EVER! We went to Maya Bay which was the setting of the beach..unfortunately Leonardo DiCaprio was nowhere to be seen! We also went to Pileh Bay, Monkey Bay (Actual Monkies there drinking Pepsi-not cool), Viking Cave and Hin Klang for open sea snorkelling and then Bamboo Island!
Last day on the beach tomorrow and then another long overnight journey to Bangkok!
Enjoy the photos!
Kirsty and Hannah!
