Well after we left Santa Monica, we got the bus from Downtown LA to Las Vegas. The bus took 7 long hours, and we stopped at thh weirdest service station in the world- it was so creepy, it was in Barstow California- it smelt really odd, and the restaurant area looked like a bus carraige, which was nice after all that time on the bus!
We stayed in The Sin City Hostel!! After reading all the bad reviews I was expecting to see people selling crack and all sorts, but it was actually ok, there was however strippers on swings a few blocks down!! Also opposite the hostel was a couple of wedding chapels which made poor andy a little bit nervous!
On our first day we went round the casinos, the all looked amazing on the outside, and exactly the same on the inside! The free drinks were a plus though : )
The next day we went to the Grand Canyon, it took 7 hours to get there, but it was worth it. Andy spent the whole time trying to climb down the edge so that I could take a cool photo of him- this meant that I had to stand really close to the edge, which did result in some bad language aimed at Andy! When we got back on the bus the tour guide told us all these stories about how people had fallen off the edge and died, I think andy was lucky not to end up as one of them- what a plonka!
We then spent another five hours on the bus to get back to Vegas, so by the time we got back I didnt really want to go out. But andy did, so at 11.00 pm he went out on the 'Party Bus' with loads of people from the hostel. By 2.00am I had got bored of waiting for him to return and went to bed. At 5.00 am I started to worry a bit, but came to the decision if he wasnt back in time for the bus then I would leave without him. But then at 6.00 am a very drunk andy returned! He spent all night in the Casinos, and managed not to lose any money (at least that is what he told me ; )
The next day we headed back to LA on the Bus with two Austrailians we had met called Jarret and Gannon, they were headed for the same hostel in Hollywood so it was nice to have someone to travel with. Also we were meeting another Aussie there clled Brent.
