For the fastuous Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, this cathedral was supposed to surpass St. Peter's Basilica ! His successors were more realistic, but it is nevertheless an imposing building. It was built from 1614 to 1655, in Italian Renaissance, then Baroque style. It has a huge interior, richly decorated with marble, stuccoes and paintings. Mozart was baptized here.
