We've arrived in Siem Reap after a sweaty dusty bus journey!! In Phnom Penh we went to the killing fields, russian market and to the S21 prison museum. All was a very eye opening experience esp the museum. Its not a conventional museum, its a high school that was taken over by Khnmer Rouge in Cambodia and used to torture and interrogate innocent people. It was really sad as we got to see everything (we'll upload pics soon) and it took place not so long ago which makes it worse! (in the late 70's)
Siem Reap seems alot nicer than Phnom Penh, its cleaner and not so built up. We are staying at a lovely guesthouse, apparently they have a golden retriever so hopefully we'll see him soon as i miss Beamish!!!!! Getting off the bus in Siem Reap was an experience, you literally couldnt move for people grabbing at you trying to give you a tuk tuk ride and take you to their guesthouse, it was mad!!!
Tomorrow we are heading to Angkor Wat Temples for a look around. Apparently theres loads of climbing involved, fun fun considering its just below 40 degrees!!!!!! :)
