So all the campground in Yellowstone were full, and we had to rent a small cabin for the night. We were both happy to sleep in a bed and thought the cabin was cute. We absolutely loved Yellowstone and agree that it was one of the best stops of the trip!
After Yellowstone we drove to the black hills in south Dakota and spent the night in a nice campground near a lake. We got to see mount Rushmore and crazy horse mountain.
Today we stopped in the badlands of south Dakota and did some small hikes through the strange rocky area. This is where many dinosaur bones have been found. It was 96 degrees and there is no shade anywhere so we couldn't stay out for too long. It felt like a desert!
We are currently driving through south Dakota towards Iowa. We just found out there are tornado warnings a little north of us, so we are checking updates frequently and trying to head away from them. We probably won't see any tornados (hopefully), but we will hit some serious thunderstorms and rain!
