Just had our first day on Kho Phi Phi. it really is a mini paradise, zero cars on the whole island.wierd. well done.

the effects of the Tsunami in 2004 are still very much present. it is truely touching seeing the remainds of homes and buildings and watching the huge efforts by all STILL to rebuild and re-capture the life of this beautiful little island. about 70% of the island was effected and over 2000 people died,which when you see how little this place is, it really hits you hard. it only took us about 5 minutes to walk the whole width of the island from one beach to the memorial gardens on the other side. you can LITERALLY still see tears in the eyes of the still shocked and morning locals. hearing the stories of those that experienced and survived is unbelievable.

the craziest was a bunch of divers who went to dive in Maya bay (where The Beach was filmed) as the came back up to the surface to reboard their boat they had realised that what was once the most beautiful beach on the western coast of Phi Phi was now no more than a collection of over turned boats and floating dead bodies waiting to be identified.

the Thai people are so amazing that when the first wave hit they were only worried about saving all the fish and putting them back into the sea. its all been a bit too much for me today, however the show must go on and snorkeling here we come. (tomorrrrrow)

Matty, we fly in from Krabi to BKK at 5pm sat and will be back in Khoasan Rd about 6ish. where do u fancy meeting,would be wicked to hook up again!

We had an amazing night last night. The manager, Roland, had his birthday, and he had 40 Vietnamese staff there in the bar. This meant, as the ONLY TWO GUESTS, we were invited too. We ate loads of Vietnamese grub and had an amazing time, but left when they finished playing "spin the chicken head" and were off to the Karaoke. Hilarious night, wish you were here bro...

Secondly - STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't send cheques to my address in Vietnam as I cannot cash them here (I'm not a legit citizen - only an ex-pat!). Don't worry if you've sent them already as they will make it to Vietnam before I come home to the UK for the summer and I'll bring them with me and cash them at home.

So. What to do:
1) You CAN send clothes, shoes and other practical items to my address in Vietnam: Ms B Shorland, 135/17/62 Nguyen Huu Canh, P22, Q. Binh Thanh, TP.HCM, Vietnam.

2) If you want to send cheques, send them to me at my Mum's address and I'll cash them then withdraw an equal amount in Vietnam and give it to Sister Kim. I promise I'm not corrupt. I'll even waver the 30% commission fee...
My Mum's address is: Beechcroft, Marston Road, Sherborne, Dorset, DT9 4BJ.

I hope that all makes sense. Be warned though - it may take a while for all this cheque cashing to go through. I come home in July so the money probably won't leave your account til then! Please make all cheques out to Miss B Shorland (it'll make it easier if they are all in my name).

Finally seen a message from you. All sounds good but what r you cutting hair for! Bad trade as I always tell Luc!! Took me ages to find a msg from you but eventually found 1!

Anyhow, alls well this end, every1 is envious as anything. Marco is visiting at mo and Emma's christening is next Sunday as to which Luc is Godfather (no not the film!). Anyhow, you sounds chilled as in not heard much (what a nag I am eh!?) but keep yourself well
