Well here we are in Dubai and well and truly ready to come home. I have found it very difficult to build up enthusiam to get out and see the city and coastline as I am tired and thinking about coming home all the time!!!!
The weather is quite warm but for Dubai standards cool!! Today is a range of 24 to 35 degrees but you don't notice it much as you taxi everywhere as they are quite cheap and everything is well air conditioned, even the bus shelters are closed in and air conditioned.!!!!
Yesterday we hired a driver for a few hours and he drove ud over to the Palm Island and had a good look of that from the car. It is amazing and the new hotel that opened last month was very impressive. We also went to the Emirates Mall and had a wander through there for a while, inlcuding having a look at the snow city in there that is three storeys high and has a black ski slope in!!! as well as snowboarding and troboganing (? sp ). I didn't feel like going in there so we gave it a miss and just took a few photos. After drivingus along the coastline and pointing out all the important features and land marks of Dubai we went back to our hotel for a rest.
In the evening we got a water taxi over the creek and had a look at the gold and spice souks. Friday is a holiday for the men and we found out very quickly that the souks are primarily as malr domain on a Frisay and after only a short time I was feeling uncomfortable and so we left and returned to the hotel for dinner.
Today we are taking it easy after rising late. We will pack for the at time and then tonight are off to an evening in the desert with 4x4 driving and dinner at a Bedouin or camp or something!!!!
Our flight leaves at 10.45am and we arrive home early hours of the morning on Monday.
Looking forward to catching up with you all when we recover.
Love kerry and Martin.
BTW The Lion King in London was fabulous.
