These are the pink river dolphins, the only freshwater dolphin species in the world. Before I came here I was under the impression that these critters were very difficult to see in the amazons and were very rare. I was way wrong. We usually saw 1 or 2 every hour and sometimes come across a group of 5 or 6. They are very small dolphins, only reaching about 6 feet (I think). They are white with pink tinges.
