After having to say bye to my best bud, we then made our way to Scone (pronounced scoon) Palace which is the current residence of the Earl of Mansfield. Beautiful building and grounds.

Well we started the day with a hearty breakfast of black pudding. Wasn't too keen to try but thanks to the wonderful cooking of Scotland's very own chef extraordinaire - Alasdair Melville, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Will do it again. It was then on to the town of Crieff to the distillery where we enjoyed The Famous Grouse experience. Was shown the process of making whiskey, very interesting. Then came the good part...... Still in Stirling, and to the William Wallace monument. 246 steps (spiral) to the top, Ali and I made it to the top, alas Dougie did about 20 and decided nahhhh. Well worth it but might not think so tomorrow. Having a wine now to recuperate.

Ali and Linda took us to Stirling Castle, Stirling. Magnificent buildings! A few stairs but do-able. Here'a a shot of Ali and Douglas with the lovely Linda. Great views of Scotland and from here we could see the Wallace Monument and that's where we headed.
