The next morning we packed our stuff and headed on the drive back to Adelaide. We decided to take the coastal route back and head to Robe which would be a good stop over. We stopped off in the morning at Cape Bridgewater which had a nice walk up a cliff edge. You then came out onto a lookout where you could see loads of seals down below on the rocks and playing in the water. We were glad we did the walk and not the boat trip which cost $35, when you could see them for free up above.
We then continued driving on with a stop at Mount Gambler. We popped into the tourist info not thinking anything of the place but then realised there was some really nice areas there. We went to see the Umpherston Sinkhole Garden, which was a collapsed cave turned into a beautiful garden and you can go into it. We also didn't realise but the town was built on the slopes of a dormant volcano. So we went to see Blue Lake which is a beautiful blue lake formed in one of the volcanic craters with another smaller one nearby. Both of these were very cool. We then continued driving onto Robe where we were going to stay, with my fingers crossed Graeme would take me to the cinema…hehe.
When we arrived in Robe the tourist information was already closed, so we checked out a couple of campsites and picked one close to the town and overlooking the beach. We camped right on the edge of the cliff next to the sea it was really nice. We had a quick look at the local cinema, but unfortunately it wasn't showing many good things So we decided to get the dinner on and watch a film on the laptop…
We started to get the stuff out the car when we realised our last meal of curry, was not there! I'd left the curry sauce and the chick peas in the fridge in the last campsite oops! Poor Graeme was not happy, he thought I did it on purpose so we couldn't have any dinner. So we had to go to the local supermarket for more food, going over our budget hehe oops. But we had a nice bbq dinner of beef burgers and chips and cheesy beans. But it wasn't the same as our curry. We got a bit of chance to then watch an episode of Fawlty Towers before bed.
It was lovely the next morning waking up to the ocean outside. We packed up our stuff and had another burger for breakie, then had a quick potter round the town of Robe. I wasn't allowed an ice cream because of my curry mistake yesterday hehe. We then got back in the car and drove onto Adelaide for Christmas.
