That's Sur Lot!
After some pleasant restful days at the campsite near Villeneuve Sur Lot at the base of Pujols- yet another of France's beautiful villages it was time to move on. As usual it took time to say goodbye to all my new best friends. There was some sort of a gun going off which freaked Sacha out and made me twitchy and in a hurry. Consequently I reversed straight into the tree behind me - bear in mind I do have reversing sensors!
I must mention that there were tons of fruit on the trees next to my camp. I'll call them cherry plums as they looked like cherries but were actually sweeter than plums. I ate loads to no ill effect and took some with me.
Had a quick look around Villeneuve with its rose coloured tower and church and headed on to Bergerac.
I enjoyed wandering around the old historical part of the town. It helped that most of it is pedestrianised. The sun was shining and I took photos of the statue of Cyrac de Bergerac. Sacha fell into the river and had trouble climbing out.
Afterwards driving cross country in the direction of Angeloume there was a heavy rainstorm which made the driving treacherous. This soon cleared up and I was able to enjoy the undulating countryside and the fields of sunflowers.
Looking at the aires book I headed for a village called Villebois-Lavalette. The aires is in a car park amongst mature trees. The village is stunning perched on top of a hill with its castle and church. It is a good find.
