Well this is definitely a step back in time , decided to stay overnight close to beach in a very primitive camp site , was able to catch up on washing and it dried a treat on the line should have seen me pegging it out !! Went for walk along the beach a nature reserve . Lots of shells and flocks of birds a real haven. Dave managed to find a house where chocolate was hand made , well what more can I say ?

Along the way passed veggies, fruits and grapes . Now used for food crops, was once given over to tobacco production. Left the van and walked up to Hawkes Lookout high above the fertile valley and great views of Ben Nevis NZ . Ate a lovely muffin purchased earlier was delicious !!!

Bright sunshine , so gave the van a good clean , called at New WorldSupermarket and headed back towards Richmond along the coastal SH6 to the national parks .

Stopped at scenic look out overlooking bay of Nelson and Richmond. Passing thro grape growers and wineres to reach a site south of Nelson perched on the hill. Quiet site with only a few vans . Bit far out to find food so raided the fridge for salad, mashed pots, macaroni cheese, glass of wine ! Photo is typical town shops.

Early morning walk on the beach , tramp round the park then across country again via Buller Gorge . Stopped at Newton Swingbridge and walked up into the woods for about an hour . Saw some kids take the quick way back via the zip wire.
