Coby & Caz - our weekend in the Lakes
dear Mummy & Auntie Karen,
We have had so much fun hearing about your adventures we thought you may like to hear about ours.
We were very excited on Friday afternoon when grandad covered the back seat of the passet and put his rucksack by the front door. This is more then just a run in the local park we thought.
We jumped in and set off up the motorway and a couple of hours later arrived in Broughton Square for a quick walk up the old railway line. Grandad resisted the lure of the Manor Arms and soon we were driving up the Duddon valley to Seathwaite and the Newfield Inn.
Minutes later Uncle John & Auntie Barbara arrived and we had great fun climbing all over them.
The humans decided to eat their din dins at the Blacksmiths Arms but made sure we were fed and watered first. U J & A B laughed out loud at Coby's trick of throwing food out of the bowl and chasing it.
Needless to say our dreams were broken in the early hours when the humans returned having spent several hours in the Manor & Newfield after their trip to Broughton Mills.
The Humans finally surfaced on Saturday morning and after a leisurely breakfast and a review of Grandad's trip around New Zealand with you Mum, we all set off for the nature reserve at Haverigg.
Caz had a lovely time picking up sticks and stones and throwing them at the humans' feet and she actually got to paddle in the sea (the only time any of us got wet as it never rained the WHOLE weekend)
Coby spent some of the time on a lead as there were lots of other dogs around (we say "a lead" as Grandad had a senior moment before leaving Woodsetts and forgot our leads but a phone call to U J saved the day).
it was very cold but enjoyable.
Back at Seathwaite we chilled out on the sofa all evening while the humans went next door to the Newfield for din dins, A B said to tell you that the garlic mushrooms are as good as ever.
Another lazy start to Sunday and we were back in the car and ready to leave by 12 noon but Grandad disappeared in to the Newfield again so Coby decided to move into the drivers seat but her paws wouldn't reach the pedals. when grandad came out he refused to let Coby drive and made her get back in the rear of the car and so we set off down the valley looking forward to our next visit.
Lots of woofs & licks
