So our travels continued after our nice break in Bangkok, we boarded the overnight bus which was pure luxury compared to what we have become accustomed to, we had leather reclining seats and tv's playing movies so comfortable trip down, however the rain was falling heavily for the whole time and continue while we waited at the port for the Cataraman to the island. So with wild weather conditions the journey suddenly got interesting as we hurtled through the rough sea with huge waves throwing us around. Within 5 minutes there were people vomiting in bags. Out of around 100 passengers on the cateraman around 80 people must of been sick, and yes this did include both of us!!! A lot of green faces. Anyway all good fun.
Arriving at our resort we were very impressed with our little bungalow that we will spend 5nights in, right next to the white sand beach, the pool and of course the pool bar which pleases us greatly (not that we are drinking a lot we promise)..
So our days have been spent in a classroom and diving, doing our PADI openwater. First day in the pool Gill was very sick but managed to make it to the side of the pool and not through the regulator. So like being back at school we got all the exams done and completed on the first day so we could get out to sea and get on with some diving. Although the 2 dives we have done so far have been a little disappointing as the weather conditions make the visability poor but fingers crossed this will improve for our next 2 dives tomorrow. We have taken the day off today to recover from the Full Moon Party.
Soooo the famous Full Moon Party, wow what an experience, this is the craziest party you could imagine. With upto 30,000 people in peak season. The whole beach lined with bars blasting out different types of music and stalls selling various types of buckets of alcohol. We stuck to buckets of SamSong whiskey with extra strength redbull and coke. In the spirit of things we both ended up painted in cycadelic colours allover our faces, arms and legs and I am pleased to say there is no photogenic evidence as we didnt want to risk taking the camera. Fantastic night dancing and chatting to other travellers. We left the party around 8am to go back to the resort for breakfast (still fully painted) we scoffed 2 plates full being very greedy, then crashed in bed for sleep.
Living the dream in paradise islands sorry to rub it in you guys will be seven hours behind us as of tonight and no doubt suffering the cold weather. But we miss u all lots.
