Pisco is another city with not much to see except for one thing. The birds islands.
Lots and lots and lots of birds! And some more animals...
These islands have a huge amount of birds of many types - it's actually ridiculous.
You can get there by boat, but you can't take a tour on the islands themselves. The only people who actually walk on these islands are those who collect the bird crap. Yes, you read it - they actually use the huge amount of bird crap for several things, apparently it's quite expensive...
On the way to the islands you see a huge cactus marking on the ground, similar to those in Nazca.
When you get to the islands you are actually shocked by the amount of birds on the ground and flying around (watch out for bird s***...).
Other than birds you may find sea lions and penguins walking around having fun...
There's not much to say about it really, the photos speak for themselves. But you really have to BE there to realize that it has a ridiculous amount of birds (and bird s***).
Some people call Pisco the "Galapagos for the poor", but I think there's no connection between them whatsoever... I guess I will find that out soon enough :)
Next stop - Lima!
