Vienna, or Wien - One of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
My first view of the city was from the top of St. Steven's Cathedral, but it was not that impressive at all. In fact - Vienna is much more impressive if you walk down its streets.
Compared to Innsbruck and Krems - here there are so many tourists, different languages, and stores... Our first stop was at the main shopping street where Daniela wanted to check a smart phone and a coat. As strange as it may be - I was the one who ended up buying clothes...
Funny story.
I really wanted to do my laundry in Krems, but there was just one laundry service and I couldn't find it. So we assumed that it would be easier to use the hotel service, as they are supposed to finish it in a day (makes sense, right?).
So as we arrived the hotel i had NOTHING left to wear, and I was already wearing my dry-fit shirt (running shirt) which is not a typical austrian clothing, especially in the winter time...
Apparently they don't have laundry service on saturday/sunday... so I needed to find a clever (or stupid) solution.
I decided to go for the stupid solution and manages to hang 2 hangers outside our window using a string I had for these cases... It was cleverly attached to the window frame and enabled me to hang 2 shirts outside.
As I told Daniela - I was probably the only one in Vienna, or maybe Austria... make it - in EUROPE, to hang clothes to dry outside a hotel window (who does that???).
Lucky for me Daniela persuaded me to take the smarter solution and purchase 2 basic T-shirts in H&M, so now I have something to wear... needless to say that my 2 shirts didn't dry at all (no sun), and I was lucky they didn't freeze at night... :)
At night Vienna is much more beautiful. Romantic scenary, Beautifully lit buildings - a wonderful place to walk in. I would seriously return here some day with a girlfriend to do all the romantic-touristic kind of things like taking a carriange tour around the city...
It's been a very lovely vacation so far and we managed to see a lot of the city in 2 days.
Now i'm about to start the real deal...
in 4 hours I'll be on a plane to Madrid. 3 hours after landing - another plane will take me to Lime (12Hrs flight), and 5 hours later - I'll take the last plane to Santa Cruz, hopefully I'll find a good hostel BEFORE I get robbed...
So, Veronika, Steffi, Daniela - Thank you sooo much for hosting me and showing me europe in a way only local people can show. I've had a wonderful time here and I'm wondering if it's not better to just stay and tour europe...
But, the Puma is calling, so I'd better leave now.
Hope to meet you again - maybe in Israel this time?
Thank you!
Gilad.
