It seems that when you travel you are not immune to outside pressures that exist or you have back home. Today it all caught up with me and I had a bad one. Better now though but still feeling a bit flat. Perhaps it's because we are normally home after two weeks..... who knows?
Everything in the resort was Ok though.... and if you are wondering why no photos its because we are taking too many and the poor little Samsung Tab 3 doesn't want to blow up like his older brother 7, so we'll have to be pictureless unless I can find another way. We set off for the beach this afternoon, where we cannot swim because of large numbers of Portugese Men of War, to retreat quickly to the verandah of the villa where Helen still is, because of a massive storm. After recovering from a late night/ early morning we have been taking it easy..... booking in more body massage/ cooking/ and tomorrow two fulll day tours, i think with an agent opposite the resort entrance, who is Trip Advisor accredited and cheaper.
Looking at a full day to "James Bond" Island.... with floating villages, canoeing, caves and temples and possibly a day with elephants, bamboo rafting and turtle sanctuaries. Plus there are the local markets.
Also going to do a towel folding course..... could match Roh's balloon sculpting.
Meals on the beach each day, late so we take in Happy Hour. I said to Helen today not to expect 2.30 Cocktails in retirement.
The resport is like a revolving door with people coming and going all the time. If you've been here a long time you are constantly brown and or burnt and smell of coconut oil. Also clothing can be anything or just something that covers and age is no barrier. It seems that you are naked without tats so I'm glad that I have veins showing on my legs which with a bit more brown will look like tats.
I was a bit freaked at the first breakfast and thought this must be what it's like at a retirement village but there is a mixture of ages now. Helen has just retreated in as the rain has bucketed down. I've got used to going out in bathers and carrying an umbrella. It's like watching purple penguins wandering with all the umbrellas up.
Well better get ready for dinner.... Cheers!
