These little carvings in the bricks are also over 1000 years old. They are squirrels, which is amazing because I haven´t seen one single squirrel since I got here. I cant believe a tree-dwelling animal could survive in almost desert conditions. The Chimu people did alot of trading of goods all over South America so I presume they ate squrriels.
