hi from sunny and extremely hot byron... what an adventure...Ames and I have had the funnniest few days ever. the car survived the journey up, thank god- after numerous stops to check oil etc. turned out to be an expensive day what with 10 hours stopping for petrol every 2 etc. got lost several times and ended up taking the scenic route to say the least. it was incredible, we properly got to see the outback. i saw my first wild kangaroo- although having it jump in front of the car was a little scary to say the least. the scenery was stunning, especially driving at sunset- really was breathtaking but by the 9th hour its an understatement to say that we were a little tired. got to byron at 2am and checked into the only and most expensive motel in byron- but at that ridiculous time we really had no choice. however, in the am the owner told us about this empty bungalow he owned right in the centre of town- we pay 30dollars a night and its awesome. ames and i have our own proper little house. its a little run down and we have to check for spiders round every corner but we have a patio with a table etc which has become the social centre of byron !!!!!!!!!!!!! its awesome here, my idea of heaven. think we might try our hand at sky diving sometime this week- so excitng !!! really a once in a lifetime opportunity. hope everyone's well. xxxxxxxx
